About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Ecologist to join our team based out of the Premise Orange office with the view to nurture and develop the successful candidate with a clear path to progress into a senior role within the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical advice and quality services to staff and clients while completing delegated environmental projects as set by the Senior Ecologists, Environmental Manager or relevant Project Manager.
  • Undertake environmental assessments, including flora and fauna field surveys, data collection, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Desktop studies, including database queries, mapping, interpretation and reporting.
  • Collaboration with project team members and leaders.
  • Assist with Fee Proposals, Environmental Impact Assessments and Project Reports.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Conservation Biology or related discipline.
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in a role of a similar capacity, however lesser or greater experience will be considered.
  • Current driver licence (C Class).
Experience required:
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental fieldwork, with the ability to work safely in the field and autonomously in remote areas.
  • The ability to undertake ecological field surveys as a member of the ecology team.
  • Understanding of State and Commonwealth legislation as it applies to biodiversity impact assessment and offsetting.
  • Proficient with information technology, including Q-GIS mapping.
  • Hardworking team player, with an ability to balance multiple projects.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and achieve set objectives.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and pragmatic problem-solving to draw strong conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with an ability to build rapport with colleagues
