About the Role
The role of General Manager – PNG & Pacific is to manage staff, clients and projects in Papua New Guinea and the wider Pacific, through our Papua New Guinea (PNG) office. Responsibilities cover business unit performance, staff management, client management, stakeholder engagement, fee proposals, preparation of due diligence and engineering reports, design and documentation of engineering projects, including all associated project administration work.
Key Responsibility
- Provide leadership to the Geographical Remit to ensure the safe, efficient and effective delivery of projects in a manner consistent with the organisational values and high performing culture.
- Delivery of projects to clients in line with Premise Quality Management System procedures and requirements.
- Comply with all safety requirements for job sites and ensure all required site inductions are current along with any other relevant compliance training.
- Technical input into engineering design, and reporting on a range of projects across the engineering discipline.
- Coordination and management of project resources, both internal and external.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure on time and in budget delivery.
- Maintain regular contact with project clients and other stakeholders to provide progress updates.
- Be proactive in identifying and addressing potential changes to project scope/costs.
- Oversee and ensure the timely completion of all project activities including invoicing, forecasting and reporting.
- Complete all monthly business unit reporting requirements including updates in Synergy, and reporting of financial or performance risks.
- Collaboration with other General Managers and Technical Leads to ensure sharing of information and growth in capacity and capability across the group.
- Undertake professional development activities to maintain professional accreditation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering (civil, structural).
Required Experience
- 15+ experience in civil, structural or other related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience in staff management and client management.
- IEPNG Registration.
