About the Role

An opportunity has become available for an experienced and motivated Project Manager  to join our team.  Based in Orange office you will work within the environmental teams as a senior member and project manager to achieve the objectives of the business, covering both people, technical and operational management, while also maintaining a strong emphasis on service delivery. This role will also contribute to winning projects and assist in the generation of new business.

Key Responsibility
  • Project management – including budgets, client liaison, meeting deadlines, invoice preparation and supervision.
  • Ensure the delivery of projects in accordance with client expectations, company and professional standards, and budgetary and time constraints.
  • Preparation of environmental reports in your technical field and studies, proposals and job cost estimates..
  • Actively seek new business opportunities and build relationships that enhance business development.
  • Contribute to the delivery of complex planning tasks.
  • Advise on technical problems and provide guidance.
  • Provide technical input into planning and reporting on a range of projects across the discipline.
  • Provide strong mentorship and knowledge transfer across the discipline.
  • Coordination and management of project resources, both internal and external.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure on time and in budget delivery.
  • Be proactive in identifying and addressing potential changes to project scope/costs.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients to ensure we retain and grow our client base.
Required Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in town planning, environmental planning, engineering, science or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry memberships.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar town planning/project management capacity; and/or;
  • Qualifications and experience to the satisfaction of the General Manager/Environmental Team Leader
  • Strong knowledge of statutory and strategic planning and related legislation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of systems and procedures relating to the role, including practical knowledge,    principles and methods of Environmental/ town planning.
  • Active awareness of relevant environmental issues.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial framework within a professional services firm.
  • Commitment to quality and safety, with an applied understanding of best practice planning.
  • Strong people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
