An opportunity has become available for a full-time Trainee Surveyor to join our team based in our Orange office. The purpose of this role is to work effectively within the team to execute Surveying services that exceed client expectations for a quality and professional project that is delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibility
  • Assist Surveyors in all types of surveys including cadastral, engineering and control surveys under supervision.
  • Assist in the preparation of drafting survey plans and use of CAD packages to draft plans.
  • Assist with survey reports.
  • Perform Survey fieldwork.
  • Supply and maintenance of survey equipment and vehicles and survey searching.
  • Additional ad hoc support to the survey team.
  • Any other reasonable requirements of the Registered Surveyor or designee.
Required Experience
  • Exposure to survey instruments and GPS.
  • Desire to continue study in further surveying related qualifications.
  • Reliable, dependable, self-motivated and hard working.
  • Ability to work autonomously as required and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Possesses personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate vision, mission and foundations.
  • Willingness to learn modern surveying equipment including total station theodolites and the utilisation of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS).
  • An understanding in data recording techniques and in using computer aided drafting (CAD) systems for survey calculations to produce plans.
  • Minimum year 10 certificate.
  • Willing to undertake studies or currently undertaking studies related to the field of Surveying.
  • Current driver’s licence.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of CAD packages (CivilCAD/AutoCAD preference).
