Mater Hospital Redevelopment

Mater Health Service North Queensland is applying to redevelop the Mater Hospital Pimlico under a Master Plan. Premise was engaged to prepare Traffic Operation Assessment, Parking Assessment and Public and Active Transport Plan reports associated with the Master Plan.

The Master Plan features the redevelopment of land currently used for off-street, at-grade car parking for the purpose of multi-storey medical facilities and car parks including provision of floor space and parking areas over an existing local street.

The parking assessment required a preparation of an inventory of on-site and on-street parking and conducting a parking occupancy survey around Mater Hospital Pimlico. A parking demand model for Mater Hospital Pimlico was developed based primarily on the local planning scheme, but also considering other parking reference documents such as:

  • RTA’s Guide to Traffic Generating Developments (2002)
  • Transport Assessment Guide draft document (Queensland Transport, 1995)
