Off-Grid Solar Policy Development

Premise provided a draft off-grid solar policy, as well as a letter of technical advice, concerning the requirements for developing properties with off-grid power and telecommunications.

Our services encompassed review of technical literature and detailed analysis, review of costing and technical requirements, as well as a feasibility study of currently available technology for options of supply of power via sustainable energy sources. Battery demand balancing and diesel gen-set backup power were integrated to allow reliability of 90%, 99% and 99.9% (equivalent to a grid connection).

Following the completion of the technical literature review, Premise developed a draft policy for inclusion in the client’s revised Development Guidelines. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our client, the Whitsunday Regional Council.
