Premise Water was commissioned by RBG Services Pty Ltd to produce a Stormwater Management Strategy for the Waterlea Estate. The site was subjected to significant flooding due to large catchments. These catchments contributed overland flow to the site an required resolution. As such, the focus of the study was to provide a solution to manage the stormwater, providing relief to downstream flooding whilst optimising the usable land.
Premise Water’s solution proposed mitigation options and infrastructure to appropriately manage water quality and quantity. Premise Water developed a hydrodynamic XPSWMM model, which was validated and tested for the contributing catchment extents. These models were then used to develop mitigation strategies to alleviate flooding in the areas already subjected to inundation. The modelling included a waterway crossing at Karrabin Rosewood Road and a particular upgrade to those culverts. The development was designed to convey flows with no worsening of flood conditions to surrounding properties.
